As you’ve likely seen, the box office has taken a huge
beating from coronavirus. Onward, in its second weekend, led with a mere $10.6
million. Two of last weekend’s new releases—I Still Believe and The Hunt—failed
to crack $10 million. This all led to the box office having its lowest turnout
in 20 years. And because of mass theater closings and movie delays, the box
office is likely to see its worst year in quite a long time.
But the biggest casualty this past week? Bloodshot.
And to be more specific: Vin Diesel.
This past weekend, Bloodshot only managed to rake in $9.2
million domestically and $24.3 million worldwide. And over the course of the
rest of the week, the movie couldn’t even muster another $1 million. That was
good enough for second place at the box office, but those figures also come in
way under the film’s $45 million budget.
