Bollywood Actor Sanjay Dutt ‘Diagnosed with Lung Cancer’ As He Announces Career Break

Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with lung cancer, it has been reported.

The 61-year-old – known for Bollywood blockbusters Sanju and Khal Nayak – was rushed to hospital over the weekend, after complaining of breathlessness.

He tested negative for coronavirus, and was discharged from treatment at the Lilavati Hospital, in Mumbai, yesterday.

It has now been reported that the actor is battling cancer, with insiders telling Film Information that he could be heading to the US for treatment.

While Sanjay has not spoken publicly about the diagnosis, he announced that he will be ‘taking a short break’ over health issues.

Taking to social media this afternoon, he told fans: ‘I am taking a short break from work for some medical treatment.

‘My family and friends are with me and I urge my well wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate.

‘With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon.’

Fans instantly flooded his post with support, with many sending their best wishes.

‘Get well soon brother,’ an Instagram user commented, while one posted: ‘Get well soon baba.
‘Take Care Baba. & get well soon. Luv u [sic],’ another wrote.

‘All my special prayers are with you,’ a follower added.
